If you want to see the best version of this story go check out Jan Svankmeyer's short film, "The Pendulum, the Pit and Hope". Most of what I've seen of Corman's films are watchable, except for this dud.

I quite like Ray Harryhausen's version.

that film is sublime but i do like the roger coorman version too, plus its much more accurate to the story
