who is the "screaming" dead woman in the coffin? somebody must know.

ok, some nice person just put it back up on youtube, so i watched it all the way through, paying attention. the most logical (tho it ain't very logical) source of the corpse in the coffin is nicolas' mother. there's two serious problems with this. First, we are shown a flashback of their mother being walled in, but she's not lying in a coffin with her hands pressed up against the lid, she's chained to a wall, standing up. Second, and more important, the mother's corpse is going to be 15-20 yrs dead. it won't be able to hold it's hands up in the air or open it's mouth like it's screaming - it's just going to be a loose pile of dusty bones.
but really, the main question is how crazy am i to expect perfect logic in a robert corman goth extravaganza. next favorite on the list is "Masque of the Red Death".
