a specific scene

Is this the movie where some guys are (I think) auditioning a sax player, and they send him out for sandwiches, and while he's out, they steal his horns and split? I remember seeing this scene in a movie. I thought the victim was Tony Curtis (I'm not confusing this with "Some Like it Hot") but I don't see him listed in the cast. Being a saxophone player myself, my heart sunk when I saw this scene. Having someone steal my horns would be one of the worst things that could happen to me. I don't think I've ever seen this film in its entirety but I plan to do so.

The Movie you are thinking of is "The Rat Race", 1960. It starred Tony Curtis and Debbie Reynolds.
Good, but grim movie if you can find it again.

You are right love. This is a great movie worth seeing. I think they show it once in a while on tv but it is rare. I will watch out and post it on The Rat Race imdb when I see it is coming. Ironically Don Rickles plays a mean guy in this movie which was made before he became famous as an insulting comedian. He does a good job too as does Curtis and Reynolds. I was about 12 when I first saw it on the big screen and even then I was impressed with it. I rented a video of it many years later and it was still great even though it lost a little something as does most movies when you have seen it on the big screen and then watch it on tv.
