What can you tell me about the Spanish version of this? I have recently learned Spanish and now am watching it and I think Cruella is even more frightening in Spanish! Was the Spanish overdubbed around the same time of the original? Who are the Spanish voice actors? I've been trying to research it but no luck. Thanks!
Hi, the spanish version was directed by Edmundo Santos, a really close friend of Walt Disney. He did some of the most beautiful dubbings in world including Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, 101 Dalmatians, just to mention some of them. He not only directed, he also translated all the words and songs, sometimes changing a little bit the words, but with the same intention and soul. Rumors says that Walt Disney love his work, unfortunately some of his dubs (Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella and Snow White) were recently re-dubbed with horrible translations and actors, but that was because in Latin America there were some legal issues with some actors. Too bad for us. Carmen DonadÃo is the woman that give voice to Cruella De Vil, she also dubbed the witch in Snow White, Anastasia in Cinderella, Mrs Darling in Peter Pan, etc. You can see more information in www.doblajedisney.com but it is in spanish. Hope you enjoy.
It all depends where you come from. A lot of people in Spain detest the original Disney translations, because they are dubbed by Latin American Actors, and the Latin American Accent is nothing loke the true Spanish Accent.
Yeah I'm bilingual and have watched both the English and the Spanish Version and the Spanish Version is very well done I think. However, as a previous poster noted, it is in Latin American Spanish which is just fine with me. There is a good version up on Youtube as of this posting titled Ci3n Un0 P3rrit0s. They made the title purposefully cryptic so it won't get taken down as fast lol.
