Disappointed/Disill usioned
We didn't finish the film as it was obvious mid way through that both Day's and Hudson's character's were unethical, immoral and deceitful. We wanted to like the film as we enjoyed "Send Me No Flowers" and even "Pillow Talk" didn't go this far.
Other Doris Day films that were more decent and wholesome were "The Thrill of it All" - "That Touch of Mink" and "Please Don't Eat the Daisies."
It's disappointing to see and realize that by the late 1950's early 60's more and more films were mirroring the whole Freudian/Hedonistic self indulgent culture of America and Europe.
I was hoping to find some moral to the story...but after Day's character takes her potential client to a strip club....we bailed out...Now I find upon reading the boards here that Day's character ends up pregnant prior to being married.........Ugh.,
How romantic.
For those viewers who have a moral center and "old fashioned values" this isn't the film for you.
