Better than 'Island at War'

I tried to watch a mini series made in 2004 about Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands but just couldn't get into it. The Channel Islands had problems with collaborators.

I read of one incident where a teeneage boy and two friends tried to flee their island with a small boat. He was betrayed by his step mother who had a shop. She was also the mistress to a Nazi who turned a blind eye to goods smuggling for money. People show their true colors in such situations. The boy was killed.

You can't really compare the two ... IAW (2004) was a BBC mini-series that was 540 minutes long ... while this film (1964) is 90 inutes. More so ... IAW was totally professional where this film was at times horribly amateur.

Additionally, there was another BBC mini-series about the channel islands call Enemy at the Door from the late 70's that may be worth consideration.
