George C. Scott really looked scared

When Eddie first walks into the poolroom at the end of the movie for the final scene with Minnesota Fats Bert genuinely looked scared, or at least really concerned that Eddie was going to do something bad here. I never really appreciated Scott's acting in this movie because I was so enamored with Newman and Gleason but Scott is fantastic in it too. That last scene though is a testament to how good Scott was in the film.

I agree with you, Scott was was awesome as Bert Gordon. I always loved how the film ended with the camera pulling back and all the characters just walking off screen, wish they made films today like they did back then.

Btw I always thought that Bert Gordon should have made a cameo at the end of The Color of Money, Scott was alive and it would have been awesome to see Bert partner up with Vincent at the very end scene when Eddie takes on Vincent.

I agree. When the film came out I only focused on Newman and Gleason. Not diminishing their performance, but everybody in this was equally fantastic. It did make me realize Scott's incredible talent - he was the perfect piece of crap.

I also remember when it came out, and how the film started a trend in family pool parlors that have since gone away. Plus guys started buying expensive cues, and cases to walk into these parlors - a lot couldn't shoot a lick, it was all show.
