Charlie was poignantly performed

I wish some mention of Charlie had been included in The Color of Money. I've only seen the actor Myron McCormick in a couple of movies, but his contribution to the film was essential and poignantly performed. His role in The Hustler was as essential as Piper Laurie's. I read he died very young of cancer. What a shame. He's got that role down so pat I don't know who could have done anywhere near as perfect a job. His repartee with Eddie, his well honed conning skills and his deeply etched facial expressions created a character that provided the story with reality and sensitivity. What a great casting job! I've seen him in comedic roles too where he delivered the same high quality performance. They had some great character actors back then, didn't they?

I recently watched this once again just to watch Myron work. He is the standard every actor should adhere to. I also wanted to study Gene Callahan's art and set direction.

I also admire Myron McCormick. He was one of the greats and his world-weary portrayal of Eddie's mentor and surrogate father figure was for the ages.

I also enjoyed seeing him and Murray Hamilton together again, so soon after their work in No Time For Sergeants.

And I had forgotten how obviously "swishy" Hamilton played that role.

God's Holy Trousers!!
