Remake

Hypothetically, ideally...

Ryan Gosling... Eddie Felson
Rachel McAdams... Sarah Packard
Al Pacino... Bert Gordon
John Goodman... Minnesota Fats

Directed by David Fincher

------------------------ RIP James Gandolfini ---------------------------

Would never want this movie to be a remake its just to much of a classic.. But to see James Gandolfini act again especially in a Minnesota Fats role would be amazing..

Yes to Gosling

Absolutely NO to Rachel McAdams (perhaps Michelle Willams)

Yes to Pacino

NO to Goodman and I agree that Gandolfini would be best as Fats

reply

reply

gandolfini as gordon

john candy as fats

heath ledger as fast eddie

When I saw it, I couldn't help but think that Gosling as Eddie Felson and Carey Mulligan as Sarah Packard would be perfect in a remake (not that there should be one)!

For the love of GOD.......PLEASE.....I hope they NEVER desecrate this masterpiece with remake rubbish. These days, Hollywood would be obliged to cast a black guy as Fast Eddie with a hip-hop score, and he be nicknamed something like....Mo Dogg. Lol. Political correctness BS.

Has there ever been any suggestion that there would be a remake, with a black guy playing the lead no less? And even if it were to happen, it doesn't mean it would be terrible. And even if it was terrible, I don't see how it would ruin this film... but don't let that get in the way of your racist rant.

I actually think De Niro would make a better Gordon. He's a master at subtlety, while Pacino is a master at...whatever the opposite of subtlety is.

Your generation really scares me. It really does.

In 1961, Paul Newman was 36, Piper Laurie was 29, George C. Scott was 34, and Jackie Gleason was 45.

Casting today with the same ages, the cast might look like this:

Fast Eddie: Aaron Paul
Sarah: Lindsay Lohan
Bert: Chris Evans
Minnesota Fats: Kevin Smith

How's that for perspective?

-In a perfect world, Shane came back.
