Retromedia Entertainment version hosted by Roger Corman (2005 release)

This version of "Creature from the Haunted Sea", which comes with two other Corman movies of the "Puerto Rico Trilogy", only ran 59 minutes 19 seconds, as it is the theatrical reléase. The extra scenes added for TV are explained below:

The extra scenes are the chase scenes and bar scenes at the beginning with the "agent" character (Robert Towne) and a singing scene with Betsy Jones-Moreland. They are on a separate menu on the disc, the Special Features section. That covers about 5 minutes and 40 seconds which would account for the 63 minute version. The extra 12 minutes for the 75 minute version? I will update soon about that...EDIT: It seems the chase and singing scenes (both of the later-added TV scenes) make hte film add up to 75 minutes.

There are actors' commentary tracks for "Creature..." and the other two movies on this disc.

I'm not positive, but I believe I read somewhere that the song sequence is omitted from the shorter version, which would not account for the entire remaining twelve minutes but would be included within, if that is accurate in the first place.

I just edited my post above.

I think the 63 minute version is one that only adds the singing scenes and the 75 minute version has that AND the chase scenes as well. It's the theatrical version that is on the disc.

The two TV scenes ARE on the disc too, in the Special Features section which I had missed, thinking it was only the special features for "The Last Woman on Earth".

I see. Fortunately the disc I have is the seventy-five minute version. I would be sorry to have missed the chase scene and the opening shot of Robert Towne's canvas shoe receiving a polish.
