I'd say this movie has enough rich characters that everyone can have a favorite character, or one they see themselves as. Which one are you? Any letter of the law John Waynes? Any of you the vicious tyrant Nehemiah Persoff? Any of you the drunken chief?

John Wayne-Texas Ranger tough guy. Honest, hard working.

Stuart Whitman-more of alady's man than you know (or more of a man's woman than you know. Interested in bettering your prospects, and in living a rich, good life while being fairly generous to others.

Nehemiah Persoff-you are a vicious tyrant, and you often satisfy sadistic cravings with the excuse that it makes for more order
