'The Bastinado!'

When Wayne and Whitman arrive at Persoff's camp they are almost immediately sentenced to the bastinado by Michael Ansara.

Perhaps a minor point, but they didn't get the bastinado, which is the beating of a prisoner's bare feet. What they got instead was much closer to what's known as the strappado. I was halfway hoping Persoff's character would take this into consideration when he was busy handing out punishments.
