Movie vs. Play
I have seen the movie, but not the play. Can anyone who has seen both (or at least knows much about both) tell me what the differneces are? How true was the movie to the play?

Yes and the sequence of events is slightly different.
In the film, Mrs. Tilford comes to apologize and then Martha hangs herself at the very end...
In the play, Martha leaves the stage and shoots herself (doesn't hang herself), and THEN Mrs. Tilford comes along to ask for forgiveness and let them know that the charges have been dropped and the damages will be paid....etc....and Karen tells her Martha is dead.....etc.etc..
