A different version??

Back in the mid 50's I saw the 1936 version in a art movie house. If i recall, Hopkins character, Martha, was a closeted lesbian, but not Oberon's character..and Oberon ended up with Joel McCrea's character. Now, I just caught the ending of the 1961 version where Fay Bainter enters their home begging for forgiveness. So what i could gather in this version judging the way Hepburn's character walks away from everyone including Garner's character, that she was a lesbian too? So the ironic part of this version was that the child lied about them, but by mere coincidence guessed the truth.

You'd better see the entire film before coming to that conclusion.

I thought "These Three" completely took out any lesbian storyline because of the moral code back then. The rumor was instead that there was infedility between Hopkins and Oberon's boyfriend, and no hint to Hopkin's character truly being gay. I agree that you should watch the full film.
