Great book, Lousy movie.

Truman Capote wrote a hell of a book, but this is a terrible movie. Maybe because Audrey Hepburn is the star (I've never liked her. She's one of the most overrated classic stars that there ever has been.) Anyway, terrible movie!

Totally agree! The book is terrific, the film is unbearable. Audrey Hapburn is exceptionally charming, but not Holly Golightly and not enough presence to fill out a Capote character.

I'm in the minority on this thread so far because I didn't like Capote's book at all but love the movie adaptation.

But Breakfast At Tiffany's is the only one of Audrey H.'s movies that I've enjoyed besides Charade with Cary Grant. She is a "style icon" though imo.

Just curious, as I have never read the book.

How does the book end?

Thanks.

I consider myself an Audrey Hepburn fan, but I hated this movie. With the exception of a few parts that made me laugh or parts that I thought were cute, I thought the movie was stupid and overrated. The acting was fine but the film itself seemed rush and far too nonsensical.

Yeah, it's a 3 1/2 * rated film , but it's lousy and unbearable. Look within yourselves as to why that may be
