kenoltingIN BACK STREET THE HANDSOME JOHN GAVIN DID A GREAT JOB.SUSAN HAYWARD DID A NICE TURN AS THE OTHER WOMAN.VERA MILES HAS TO BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED AS ONE OF THE WORST WOMEN IN FILM HISTORY.BACK STREET IS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE FILMS.

The beach scene, with John Gavin in his bathing suit, fails to take proper advantage of his oh-so-pleasing physique. A little more "beefcake" would have been much appreciated.

Gorgeous man and wooden actor; Gavin came along too late. He would have been perfect at MGM in the 1930's in Robert Taylor type roles.

I just watched this for the first time in 40 years. Gavin reminds me of Mitt Romney.
