As much as I love this movie I don't think I would be able to get through the 9 o'clock showing. This film, as good as it is, is like a dare to remain awake during the entire showing. The organ score, the narration, the camera movement, the overall dreaminess of the whole affair, it all puts in a kind of daze and if you are a little bit sleepy going into it you will be going to sleep shortly. I can't wait to see it on the big screen in scope.

Just saw it to-night. Extraordinary. So glad I live in The City to see this. When I saw that it was coming out a couple weeks ago... I went nuts. So creepy, beautiful, and... well, creepy.

Felt live puragtory for the social elite: to live their dull and monotonous lives over and over, their illusions and delusions taken a hold of them till they don't know reality from dreams. Very somber but overly-fascinating. This is very much a Resnais film. Will look forward to seeing it again, and especially in such a theatre. It is like a house of worship for film: very appropriate for a Resnais.

I was visiting my sister in San Francisco and it was both of our first trips to the Castro Theater. My sister fell asleep--frankly I don't blame her. The repetition and ambiguity is frustrating and at times infuriating, but I'm still thankful to have seen this film just to have experienced it, even if I'm clueless as to whether or not I truly like it.

I was born when she kissed me
I died when she left me
I lived a few weeks while she loved me
