European cinema vs Hollywood

I noticed european cinema very different from hollywood movies
european cinema not easy to get it, bizarre films as The Mirror,Los olvidados
8½ and The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser and many movies without plot while
hollywood movies always with clear plot and not complicated for everyone
movies made to enjoy the audience as City Lights,Some Like It Hot,The Wizard of Oz and Singin' in the Rain I'm sorry but i didn't liked these movies.


european cinema are artistic ,poetic and deep movies This particularity divides the european from the american culture and that's why you don't get their meaning. and people said boring,slow,dull and bleak as Au hasard Balthazar,L'avventura
Hiroshima mon amour and Wild Strawberries,on the other side Barry Lyndon,
days of heaven,blade runner,Apocalypse Now and A Woman Under the Influence.

european cinema full with philosophy and religous messages and as The Passion of Joan of Arc,Diary of a Country Priest,Aguirre: The Wrath of God,contempt,Black Narcissus,Dekalog and Wings of Desire. there are few american movies as 2001: A Space Odyssey ,My Dinner with Andre and Ben-Hur.

funny the greatest Film-Noir I've seen Du rififi chez les hommes by american director Jules Dassin in second place will be Le samourai.

Sergio Leone rebirth western genre 'western spaghetti' but i think the best
3 western movies are shane,The Ox-Bow Incident and dances with
wolves these movies not in imdb top 250.


Art is one of the few things that will live forever,the beauty of pure cinema
if you understand what art is then you will know movies like Inception and The Dark Knight aer garbage no wonder Brazil,Planet of the Apes,Solyaris and Gattaca
out from the list .

no comparison between La grande illusion and The Shawshank Redemption
La grande illusion are way better.

imdb top 250 turn to *beep* Ratatouille and The Bourne Ultimatum in the list but
Persepolis and 4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days not in the list.
