Is there anything known about it?

George Pal was trying to get a sequel made all the way up to his passing in 1980. You may still be able to find the novelization of it on amazon as "Time Machine II" by Joe Morhaim and George Pal. It didn't go in the direction I would've expected a sequel to go, but it's interesting none-the-less.
