In one of his jumps to the future there was a plaque in front of his old sundial. What did it say? (my old eyes just couldn't make it out).

This park is dedicated by James Filby to his father's devotion for his friend George.
(I couldn`t read it either, but it`s in the IMDB synopsis)

Thanks for the info. I had never read the "synopsis" before because I assumed it would be a very brief narration. I certainly was wrong on that account!
