Tell me a good strong lie I can believe

Like how Jean Simmons at the very VERY LEAST was not nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for this role. How did she not win an Oscar for this role? She was unbelievable.

I have had very little faith in The Academy Awards for a while now, but based mostly on recent results. Now I find out Oscar has been an idiot for a long long time. I am a huge Liz Taylor fan but even she said B8 was crap. She should have won for Cat two years prior and B8 was a make up for past idiocy on the Academy's part. I have seen two other of the films from 1960 that garnered best actress nominations so I am trying not to freak out to much. I think Simmons being left off the list for this year is simply one of the biggest crimes in all of Oscar history I have ever seen. EVER. For Shirley Jones to win a best supporting Oscar and Simmons not even be nominated for her lead role? Jones would BARELY in the film. As far as acting goes, as far as Hollywood goes…. It’s just a straight tragedy.

This film was incredible. Jean Simmons did everything you could possibly ask an actress to do in this film. She DESTROYED it. She was unspeakably amazing.

I also love The Apartment, but this was the better film. The Sundowners was a good wholesome film, but it was no EG. I have not seen the other two, but if they are better than this film……

Shame. The Academy should feel great shame that Jean Simmons did not win an Academy Award for this performance.

(edit) - and someone should have won an Oscar for Burt Lancaster's hair alone. How does someone make hair look like that!?

Wasn't that line actually spoken by Jones' character?
