Music at the party: a Perez Prado rip-off

Nino Rota cleverly worked over a tune Perez Prado wrote in 1958, holding down the happiness this tune evokes.

The italien director Nanni Moretti also used this tune for the final squence of the movie "Aprile". I think as a reverence to Fellini - the camera catches the whole film-team at the set moving to the tune ...

Here is the music as played at the party scene (the party scene at the end of the movie) "La Dolce Vita":

Here first a scene of the movie "Leave, you thieves!" (1961) with Perez Prados' original tune "Why wait mambo", followed by Nanni Moretti's "Aprile" (1998):

It's a similar style but it certainly isn't a ripoff. Nino Rota is a brilliant composer who has managed just fine creating memorable masterpieces without feeling the need to steal from Perez(or anybody else for that matter). Also,La Dolce Vita's finale theme is definitely the superior tune out of the two.
