Possible plot hole in episode?

I'm referring to the episode The Girls Night Out. I actually just saw this last night, so it is fresh in my mind. In this episode, Fred makes a record and teenagers go wild over it.

Fred and Wilma are having breakfast and they hear the record playing and Fred asks Wilma how she got a copy of it. She tells him it's playing on the radio. The announcer then says that they are looking for this mystery singer. Wilma calls and says she has information. They hang up on her and show up at the Flintstones' house.

How did they know where to go? Wilma never said who she was nor did she give her address?

reply

I've always thought of that as a comic device. They were so eager to track Fred down, once Wilma called them, they could "taste" it. It's more about getting a laugh than being plausible. And I think it succeeded.

Marriage is between one man and one woman, to the exclusion of all others.

They had caller id

No offense, but you're an idiot.

flyerzzrul,

I appreciated your reply. It made me laugh!

Not to get too technical, but Caller ID was not even around in the early 60s when this first came out.

I do know this is just a cartoon and I'm sure one could find many more plot holes that just this one that I mentioned!

You won't buy caller ID, but you accept that you can accept playing a record by placing a birds beak on the album?

Reminds me of a co-worker finding it hard to believe that Mark Wahlberg's character in the film Ted is able to land a hot fiance' and live in a nice apartment while earning a salary working at a car rental agency, yet he had no problem believing that a teddy bear come come to life, smoke pot, drive a car, and have sex with multiple prostitutes.

reply

I agree, in real life you see a lot of ugly ppl with attractive ppl more often than a teddy bear coming to life lol

I dunno if a rule stating that ALL hot ppl are only attracted to ONE certain type.

Priceless. The retardedness factor in this world today is just out of control.

A few more:

Dinosaurs weren't around at the same time as people
They didn't have phones in prehistoric times.
You would hurt your self by braking a car with your feet.

They also didn't have electricity.
Or running water.
Or television.
Fred made Barney invisible and that's not possible.
You can't domesticate dinosaurs...even if they did live when humans did.
If books and newspapers were written on stone, everybody would have tendinitis for trying to lift and read them.

Lots and lots of plot holes! ;)

That is a good question that you bring up, I haven't watched the episode in a long while, but I am sure that they din't think about that when they were making the episode. How would Fred know how Wilma tracked down a copy but playing a record on the radio is a good way for it to get noticed. So I would say your guess is as good as mine if not better then mine. I don't know how they knew but they did. But I doubt that they had an address by the phone, and of course the Flintstones was out long before there was such a thing as caller id.
