Logical Ending ** Spoiler **

Did the commenters watch the same movie? In the end, Inger Stevens' character chose to live with BOTH men. After all, the human race is on the brink of extinction and her decision doubles the gene pool. Extremely racy for 1959. I'm amazed it got past the censors, but then I could say the same thing about the whole movie.

the amazing thing would be if she chose belafonte, alone. her chosing both men isn't really as daring as it might first appear. the white woman is not allowed to chose the black man over the white man.

it's like putting the first black supermodel on the cover of sports illustrated's swimsuit issue............... but pairing her with a no name blonde white woman supermodel.

Good point,
but to be pedantic, there's no such thing as a "no name" "supermodel."

i didnt think of this seoulless but that makes a load of sense. tho i fear benson will cause more problems in the future as he strikes me as a posessive sort of chap. actually i was extremely surrprised with the end- didnt think he would be able to get along with ralph.

Who knows what the men were supposed to do in the event she had a headache.

Maybe they would turn to each other for sexual fulfillment - since being "gay" would really have no meaning in a world with only 3 people?
