Remake idea...

The comment about it "trying to be great" got me thinking; this movie *could* possibly have come out better if, in Thor's gas station scene, before Thor has a chance to skeletonize the driver, he knocks the raygun out of Thor's hand and drives over it (in a present-day remake I'd get it under the front wheel of a front-drive car so there'd be a nice pop against the rocker panel and a second plasticky crunch under the rear wheel.)

This would leave Thor without a vehicle (driven off by its' rightful owner) or weapon (splat), thus forcing him to THINK. I guess from there on, the movie would look very different....

Why get rid of the skeletonizer early in the movie? Remember, the driver you mentioned is only the 1st human victim of the skeletonizer. Anyway, Thor's weapon provides a lot of fun (can't forget the great swimming pool scene in which Betty's friend gets her flesh blasted off). It's effect is refreshingly atypical of sci-fi guns, and it was very original for 1959 (up to this point characters hit by rayguns tended to simply drop dead). If "Teenagers" were remade, the change from the original I'd really want is a truly scary Gargon this time. One with a more convincing depiction than blown-up lobster shadows. Oh, and this time let us SEE the fleet of invading spaceships that show up near the end!

I don't know about that. A lot of people might go to a movie with the tag line: "Can you surive the horor of the monster from Red Lobster". They can get those three dudes from the Free Credit Report.Com (the ones who have to work in a sea food restaurant, because their accounts got hacked) to try to kill the monster by dumping tons of hot butter on it or singing to it. Somewhere Edward D Wood is smiling. LOL
Just remember: I was as good as any and better than most-Vincent Freeman in Gattaca

How about shoving the Lobster into a large pool of bubbling hot water? They did that in the science fiction movie Mysterious Island starring Herbert Lom. The scene from that movie was the most enjoyable part where the humans push the crab on its back and then knock it into the hot water. I laugh like crazy when the crab strated screaming after being dumped into the water.

Best remake idea: DON'T. No one could ever get this as perfect [sic] as it is already.
