Something I wondered . .

Why didn't Tom Graef hook up with Roger Corman after TFOS?

Recently I watched Corman's NOT OF THIS EARTH, and noticed that Graef had a bit part as the parking lot attendent who gets zapped by Birch. He also was a grip on the film (Gotta start somewhere).

We all know the sad and tragic story of what later happened to him.

Corman did help (and exploit, but WTF) many beginning filmmakers, and Graef at least had one film already under his belt. Corman would have been 'impressed' with Graef's ability to have produced a (very, very) low budget B Sci-Fi.

And Graef was able to sell it to Warner Brothers, getting it distributed and released; something totally unheard of then, unless you were Orson Welles, and even he was later given a bad time from the major studios.

Perhaps Graef was too over the edge by then, and never thought of that possibility.

Thus, another Hollywood Tragedy.

Their collaboration might have led to a few more B gems, and a possible future in film for Graef.

If he could produce something for practically nothing, it would have been interesting to see what he might of done with even a 'substantial' low budget.

We'll probably never know.
