A Better Western
than many Scott tied down. Only thing funny for me was, why did he wear that silly shirt which looked as if he stole it from Buffalo Bob? Also, in many of his westerns one could definitely see his pinky ring proudly displayed, but not here. Also, in the finale he most certainly did not get the girl. The Western was starting to grow up.
All of you stalwart worshippers of Scott, did U know this thing had a sort-of remake only 3 years later with Audie Murphy? Its called "Six Black Horses" and was also written by Burt Kennedy. Not terrible by any means, but I wonder how it got made so close to the original.
