I was just thinking about one of my favorite scenes the other day. It came about because I'm a substitute teacher and I was teaching a sixth grade music class. They were learning about African music. When we discussed drums it remnded me of the drums in The Nun's Story. I told the class how drums were used to communicate across large distances in Africa.
The scene I am referring to is when Sister Luke and some other nuns arrive in the Congo. During the boat ride to the mission, the nun who came to greet them tells Sister Luke that the drums are talking about her. "Looks much, says little, young enough to bear children."
