Those nuns are beyond crazy/nutz...

They're DEMENTED!

Seriously, all the stupid little games they play in the name of the Lord and obedience. The convent is for women who like control and vengeance. All the good nuns I had in Catholic school all ended up leaving their order because they were too independently-minded - AND too good-spirited.

For that matter, I had a relative become a nun-missionary, only to find that after years in the jungle she couldn't put up with Momma Superior in a regular convent when she got re-assigned. She got married afterward and has been happy ever since.

I think a good follow-up to "The Nun's Story" is "The Magdelan Sisters" - which tells how those crazy-control-freak nuns judge and (mis)treat poor teen girls left in their care.
