I just saw this movie today, and I thought it was quite a treat! The special effects were a little cheesy, but it was cutting-edge in its day anyway.

As I watched this movie, it felt more and more like Disney's animated Atlantis. There were so many similarities. When they stumbled upon the lost city of Atlantis, I was like "They stole the idea!" Similarities I can think of- They both start their expedition at Iceland, are disturbed on their first night of the trip, has a crew member that does not speak any english, and finding the city of Atlantis.

Disney really stole a lot of ideas from this movie.

It wouldn't be the first time Disney took someone else's idea and passed it off as their own. I felt the exact same way when watching Atlantis. I knew I was in for a long movie when they had they had every ethnic group thouroughly stigmatized too. Typical Disney slop.
