The Prof's Song

That song the students sing at the beginning and the end:
Here's to the Prof of Geology,
Master of all natural history.
A rare boy he, and rare boys we
To know such a great curiosity.
With a kai ai ai ai ai
And a kai ai ai ai ai
And a kai ai ai ai ai, ai, ai, ai ai!

It's a real song. I looked it up and there it was (with the musical score) in an ancient book called "The Genteleman's Magazine". The students of Glasgow University would sing it - the words a little different from the movie but seem to be quite flexible to honor whatever Prof they are singing about.
The words in the magazine:
Here's to the Prof of Humanity (or Geometry, Divinity etc.),
Likewise the Prof of Philology.
Latin to me is a mystery,
Without the aid of an English key.
With a kai ai ai ai ai
and so on.
