There are two shots of a few black women standing near the stage (I don't recall during which segment), and one of them looks very much like the actress Diahann Carroll. Can anyone confirm?
I also think I spotted Ahmet Ertegun, head of Atlantic Records, in an audience shot, which would make sense, I suppose, but I'm just not sure...
Among the non-performing stars (at least in this documentary; i don't know about the festival itself) are Mitch Miller, Andre Previn, Ben Webster, Ahmet Ertegun, and Judy Holliday.

shareAfter reading your post, I looked at my DVD again and I spotted the woman that sure looks like Diahann Carroll. I would be surprised if that isn't her. I hadn't noticed her before. She would have been 23 at the time that was filmed.

Not that he's a star, but beat poet Gregory Corso can be seen at a few points in the film,Good eye! I came to this board to see if anyone else saw him.
What about Chet Baker? He was listed in the credits but didn't perform.
