Wouldn't Susie have told her clasemates that Sarah Jane was black?
Did they not attend the same school?
Did they not attend the same school?
They may have gone to the same school but might have been in different grades. Even if they were in the same grade many large schools have classes divided into two or more rooms in order to increase the student to teacher ratio.
Also why Susie have told her classmates about Sarah Jane's background? She didn't want to hurt her and she knew how sensitive she was about it.
TAG LINE: True genius is a beautiful thing, but ignorance is ugly to the bone.
There's a scene later in the movie when they're teens and Sarah Jane is telling Susie about her white boyfriend. Sarah Jane asks Susie if she's going to tell and Susie says to the effect "I won't, you know I never have". I guess that indicates that Susie wasn't going around telling. Too bad the movie didn't have another scene or two of the teenage Susie and Sarah Jane hanging out so we could see that they had a deep bond like Lora and Annie. Susie was the least developed of the 4 main characters.
