How did Sarah Jane find out about her mother's death?

I wonder how Sarah Jane found out about her mother's death so she could get to the beginning of the funeral procession at that tear-jerking moment. I doubt that she would have read about it in the newspaper or heard on radio or television since Annie wasn't a famous person whose death or near death would be reported in the news. Annie had tracked her down and visited her shortly before so I imagine on her death bed Annie gave Sarah Jane's address to Lora to send her a telegram. I have to wonder though if even Annie had her address since Sarah Jane had been on the move trying to keep anybody from finding her she could have been living and working under an assumed name so how could a telegram could be sure to have reached her unless Annie had overheard a stage name Sarah Jane was using. Also I'm wondering if Lora had sent her a telegram perhaps it was before Annie's death advising her of her mother's deteriorating condition and so Sarah Jane was trying to rush to her mother's side before she passed. It is also apparent that Sarah Jane was in California across the country so it would have taken time for her to get back to the East coast. She most likely would have flown so she could get there as soon as possible. If she was and had reached her mother in time and told her how sorry she was perhaps that could have made a difference to Annie and she could have rallied and survived and recovered.
