The GODDAMNED cat

The cat in the movie isn't irksome for only one member of the cast (The dentist) but for the audience at the large too. Under the given circumstances and looking at the gravity of the situation which was purely life and death question, no PET must and could be allowed to be kept. As suspected by at least one of the members and again by the audience at large, it was this damn cat which led to the catastrophic end of the story.
Apart from the security and safety considerations, they should not have allowed any member with any pet due to the extreme shortage of food.
To me it seems a perfect folly to entertain or include anyone with a pet or that kind of sentimentalism, for that matter.
I would like to say that the cat and the Nazis brought death and destruction to this unfortunate household which as a whole was responsible for foolishly keeping a pet and thus inviting their own misfortune.

PS: For those who wish to ask, confirm or know: 'Yes, I hate PETS!, LOL!'

I wondered where the cat peed and pooped. Cats stink worse than dogs!

That part of the story was freakin unbelievable. They should have put their foot down about that. And of course the cat caused them to be discovered eventually.

in the beginning, they all acted as if it was a very temporary thing, maybe a few months AT MOST.

Exactly, but I think I should add here that after watching this movie I was little dissatisfied with the work so I watched another movie version of Anne's story named ' Anne Frank - The Whole Story (2001)' (a TV series in colour - Here Otto Frank is played by Ben Kingsley). In this work, the cat's role is less clear, in comparison so I wondered whether my earlier reaction was misplaced or not. Nevertheless, I still believe that there was no place for any pet under the circumstances and yes, I still hate pets, LOL!

There's no point in blaming the cat. Since no one knows who betrayed the families, it's impossible to know whether the real cat was in any way responsible. Most likely one of the factory workers heard another noise or otherwise put two and two together.

Anne herself might have given away their hiding place. Years ago an old Dutch woman came forward to say she had been a child during the war and had lived in a house across from the factory. One day, when she looked out a window toward the factory, she briefly saw a girl's face in one of the upper-story windows. After the diary was published, she thought the girl must have been Anne. If one person saw her, others could have.

Actually, the cat performed a useful function in controlling the rat population. The fugitives could hardly have called in an exterminator to de-rat the attic, and without a cat to kill them, the rats would have eaten the food that the people needed for themselves.

astockton_uk, are you a PETA member/activist?!!!

reply

Not in the slightest. I'm a meat eater, I'd have no problem wearing fur if I lived in a cold climate, and I love horse racing. I also love cats.

It's pretty obvious that you hate animals since you cannot understand the bond a person has with their pet! People like you make me cringe.

Same.

Thank you!

What dumb post from an equally dumb person. No empathy, no compassion, no heart. You have no idea if the cat caused them to be found out or not. You're just pulling that bs out of your ass, so shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down.

Wow, what an angry little moron!
