shareI don't feel like reading that whole article. Pethaps you could give us the TL/DR?
shareIts not that long an article.
Basically, the story was that there was an anonymous phone call that revealed where the family was hiding.
Researchers reviewing german records do not fined any record of it. The authorities that found her were the ones who investigated illegal ration cards and violations of wartime rationing. The researchers think they were investigating that, and found the family by chance.
Interesting.
shareI have read that the phone call didn't happen. It was added to the movie and play for dramatic effect.
shareInteresting, I assumed it was all wrapped up. Just found out no one knows for sure exactly who or if there was a betrayal vs. an accidental discovery:

The way I had always heard it was that the authorities caught the burglar who broke into the factory and he traded info for his freedom.
