Song used a lot?

Anyone know the name of the song used usually in a speakeasy scene in many episodes?
It's a light, cheery tune without lyrics. Sounds like something you could dance the Charleston to maybe? This song has haunted my brain since I first saw these shows in reruns when I was a kid in the 70s. Wondering also if this was an actual song from the 1930s or just a made-up one for the show? It's now great to have these shows on DVD!

I know a lot of songs from that era, but no one song seems to be repeated in night club scenes in he show. They have used a lot of different songs and most ofthem I recognize, so it is likely a real song they are using from that era.

They used two songs frequently: Mean to Me and It All Depends on You. In an episode called "The Antidote" Gale Robbins sang both songs.

There are several period songs they use throughout the series, particularly in the clubs and speaks.

Here are the most prominent:

Linda
30/30
The Loop
Ebony and Ivory

The Loop is likely the one you're thinking of, with a little bit of banjo and trumpets.

I have the old album and love all those background songs, but "Linda" is my favorite.

Hi J_A
Sorry to pitch up fifteen years late. Some great suggestions. If anyone’s still there my idea to add to the others is “Way down yonder in New Orleans”, which often seemed to be played just before someone was bumped off.
