Great Frank Nitti Quote!

Nitti had one of the classic quotes of the series in "The Gang War" (1962) when he finds out some other gangster named "Parnise Surigao" is interfering with the mob's business :

"Surigao. What kind of a country we runnin' here? Every time ya turn around, some lousy foreigner's trying to muscle in."

reply

Actually, the character's name was Parnise Surigao.

reply

Nitti has shi++y enunciation.

I just watched the rerun of that episode on YouTube. And it was a great quote, and accurate also (lol).

I wrote it down word by word....more than 5 years ago. Wow!

reply

I wish the series would have used Frank's real name of Nitto instead of the media-produced Nitti.

reply

Nitto

I had no idea.

reply

Which name- "Nitto" or "Nitti"- did the gangster actually use in real life?

Are you suggesting that the first time "Nitti" was used was in the "Untouchables" TV series?

Why is this important to you?

reply

"Nitti" used his real name Nitto in real life but it was the media of his day that mistakenly referred to him as Nitti. The Untouchables was just repeating what the media of his day called him.
