The Silence


Seems that the bet would be void due to Tennyson cheating and getting his vocal chords severed. With that said, the Colonial was disgraceful for verbally absuing Tennyson and making the bet to begin with without having the money.

It would only be cheating, if it was precluded as part of the terms.

I agree. I've gone back and forth with people about this before.

That's assuming he actually didn't have the money. Maybe he was lying, in which case he gets to be done listening to Tennyson for good, gets to keep his money, and comes out ok.

Even though Tennyson was annoying, he'd have to feel awful that the guy disfigured himself to try to win the bet. If he could have gone back, he probably would have just put up with it and never said anything about any bet.
