These are not arguments that I am making; I am just chiming in and adding more to the themes, but Mr. Serling liked to talk about the horrors of war, nostalgia, the consequences of lacking empathy, the afterlife, and there are so much more.
I had a friend watch a few episodes and it was her first time actually watching the show and she said with her observation she noticed that a it deals a lot with people being lonely or deal with being alone. Also being nostalgic about better times and how they long to be back in the past, i.e., Walking Distance, The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine, The Lonely, Time Enough at Last, A Stop at Willoughby, and there were a few other episodes she mentioned. She really enjoyed them, but mentioned that about how she felt and it was an interesting conversation.
I would love to hear other thoughts! Great post, shannongr!
Definitely loneliness and isolation is heavy subject. Loving to see other posts in this thread and adding more to the reoccurring themes in TZ. Great discussions here.
