shareJust so you know. Decades TV also holds a marathon, same time as SyFy. Might be able to find episodes there that Sy doesn't air.
shareI would have loved to switched over to Decades, but I no longer have it in my area for some reason. I used to, but they took it out.
share I watched TZ for the first time last night, Will the real Martian Please Stand Up and The Hitchhicker. I'm sold. Recorded 30 of 'em. I'll watch 'em in due time.
It's interesting that the early 80's movie which I have seen is basically old tv episodes. 20,000 feet, The kid that controls everything and Kick the can... Interested in seeing those.
Seems like a show that was ahead of its time.
Happy New Year
a question, does syfy cut content for commercials? I watched Decades and the showed the credits in slow speed, so i assume they showed the entire show. Nowadays you see the fast forward credits stuff smashed into the next episode on almost every channel. More commercials more money. I was just wondering if the syfy played full episodes.
Hey, manwithoutaplan! I am glad that you are enjoying TZ! Seriously, it is such a phenomenal show and I saw that it still holds up. Sure, it is a product of its time, however, the moral and commentary is still so relevant. It most certainly is way ahead of its time. Mr. Serling and company had to figure out way on how to mask their social commentary to get by the sponsors, advertisers, and censors. They were quite clever with their episodes.
Yes, the 1983 film used the original episodes premises (Kick the Can, It's a Good Life, Nightmare at 20,000 Feet) and had their own spin on them. The first one directed by John Landis is very similar to A Quality of Mercy. I would say check out the other alterations of TZ if you have not seen any of those. The 1985-1989, 2002-2003, and the current one 2019. They are takes of the TZ format, however, they commentate on the current times that they all respectively take place in.
You know, I noticed that they do snip out a few frames here and there. I caught one earlier today and yesterday. I can't think which episodes though, however, I did notice it.
Happy New Year to you too! May the new year bring noting, but goodness to you! Hope to chat more with you on here!
