He played Hope Lange's father and it was an important though brief part. He wasn't listed in the credits. I know in 1958 the movies didn't list everyone like now but he had an important part and some good lines and did a good job. Too bad.
shareGood point. This was a small, but strong and sympathetic character in the film. Usually Taylor played characters who were a little on the shady side.
He appeared in quite a few film roles and often on TV. He was in a number of Perry Mason shows and was the murderer in the first Mason episode.
I agree. He should definitely have been credited for that performance. The fact that he was a native New Englander undoubtedly helped him capture the demeanor of a Yankee with deep roots, and the accent was real, not the product of dialect coaching.
