This movie was far better than the 1997 version.

I felt this movie was more enjoyable with better acting. The only thing '97 had over it was technical effects and that the ship split into two. However, you can't really fault this movie for those two flaws because it was 1958 with the technology and also the real ship wasn't discovered split until 1985.

Agree completely! And it you watch one after the other, you'll see how many times Cameron has shot several scenes exactly as they were shot in A Night to Remember because there was simply no improving on the original.

Many survivors testified that the ship split in two 46 years before this film was even released.
