I notice that recently criterion has been trumping their old Kurosawa DVDs.

i.e. Seven Samurai, Sanjuro, Yojimbo

Does anyone know if The Hidden Fortress will receive the same treatment?

I doubt it.

It has a nice remaster and its Anamorphic. The others they fixed were ones with bad transfers and not anamorphic.

I would love to hear a commentary track by George Lucas and Steven Prince on the film though.
