2011 Blu-ray is first class
I've loved this film since I first saw it on TV in 1960. Since then I've come to appreciate it more and more for so many of its aspects. A lot of John Ford in there, IMO.
Over the years it became increasingly rare. The DVD was a disappointment as the colours were so faded and the image far from sharp.
Now at long last, after a restoration and a transfer to Blu-ray I've bought it and have seen and heard it like never before; a massive leap over the years from 625-line UHF TV to 1080p LED LCD TV/Blu-ray.
The MGM/20c Fox Blu-ray quality is fantastic; I'm blown away and have enjoyed seeing and hearing The Big Country much, much closer to its original quality - what a beautiful experience. Mystery why it has taken so long.
In UK only region A available, region-free available on eBay where I got mine.
