"The Seventh Seal": A Dark Comedy?
Could this film be a dark comedy? Any thoughts?
shareI agree! Not many people get the subtle humor of the situations nor the lunacy that seems to prevail throughout the story. I think many times the comedy is masked by the imagery, much like the highbrow dialog in a Tarantino film hides the silly things the people are saying.
Not laff out loud funny, more tongue in cheek funny!
or
Seriously Funny?

Yeah that classification works

To be honest, I still haven't seen the film in a while, so I cannot really say whether or not I find it funny. However, I'm planning on re watching it soon so I'll be able to officially judge whether or not this film is actually comedic when I do that.
shareI felt the same away about it and was honestly surprised that comedy wasn't listed as one of this film's genres
shareI can recall the funniest part of the film for me is when dude is in the tree and death is cutting the tree down, and the man pleads with him stating he has a wife and children and death shoots him this look like are you seriously trying to lie to me? That cracked me up
shareI found it kinda funny how Death was just cutting down a tree and the actor in it did nothing and was just like "please, why me?" So yeah that could work lol.
