I need help on a Macbeth project. Please look.

Hi, I am doing a project for school on Macbeth in
modern/pop culture. I'm looking at different movie versions
of the story, references to Macbeth in music and television, etc.
I can find movies on Macbeth simply by searching here on imdb.
I can't seem to find a source with information on references to
Macbeth in music, television series/episodes, ect. Can anyone think
of any? Are there any movies that are not directly Macbeth, but are
heavily based on or influenced by it. Thank you so much for helping!

P.S. Also, when I say Macbeth, I am refering to the play in general, not just the character of Macbeth. Thanks.

Well..you're posting in one of the best adaptations of Macbeth in film. Throne of Blood is simply "The Macbeth" to watch as it is very loyal to Shakespeare right down to the forest moving. There's also several British productions you might look into, particularly one from the 80s that was from the BBC.

Macbeth is frequently referred to in music. Most notably is the dagger or the out this damned spot line. Peter Gabriel has it in some of his lyrics. "Is this a dagger or a crucifix i seeeeeeeeeee" In the Blood of Eden track. Also, the Fair is foul line from the opening of the play has become part of speech like the To Be from Hamlet.

Gl. I only posted cause i was in the same boat once upon a time...and I only wish i had internet posting boards then.

this was a long time ago, but if anyones still looking for macbeth *beep* there's an absurdist spin off of macbeth by eugene ionesco called macbett.

And now, the news.

If you're looking for the most loyal adaption of MAcbeth, don't go with throne of blood, as one poster suggested----it's very very different.

Polanski's is probably the best one I can think of.
