In the famous death scene at the end, how did Mifune's men know he was the murderer? Anybody have an answer for this?

They actually speculated "Who killed the Lord Tsuzuki?". That, combined with the Washizu's prophecy that he will only be defeated when the forest begins to move (which was now coming true), was enough for the soldiers to turn on Washizu. Saving their own hides was now first priority!
