Thoughts.

Throne of Blood was disturbing. It goes from merely interesting to tense to tragic and leaves a bitter aftertaste. But it remains consistently disturbing from the minute Asaji, Washizu's wife makes her first appearance. Toshiro Mifune was great, right from his initial edgy moments when his wife f#cks with his mind to the times he chooses to be delusional. Somehow I found myself siding with the lead character in spite of his nihilistic morals because he, in a moment of weakness, succumbs to temptation and that's something I'm sure most of us can relate to. What's scary is the accountability that comes along with it, having to bear the consequences of your actions. Excellent film. Great score. It's definitely going to stick with me for a while now. 9/10.
