Hay, Guess what. "Tomorrow" the tarantula was an actor too. He appeared in this movie, Tarantula and if I'm not mistaken, Bert I. Gordon's "Earth VS the Spider". His owner called him The world's only trained Tarantula. Since Tarantulas can live a couple decades, he may have been in more movies. I also read somewhere that Orangy had the lead role in "Rhubarb" (1951) A story about a cat that inherats a baseball team.
